Fight Night Round 2 Profile for Parents:

The Fight Night series has two titles: Fight Night 2004 and the more recent Fight Night Round 2. Both titles are based on similar styles of play, and are considered by most to be the best boxing titles available on a console.

Things to be aware of:

Both Fight Night titles are known for accurately portraying the world of boxing, and have all the violent elements you would expect from a real life boxing match. The boxing characters are realistically modeled, meaning that they look real, and fall with surprising realism when knocked down. If you have problems with televised boxing matches, you'll have similar problems with the Fight Night series. Fight Night incorporates accurate damage modeling on the body, meaning not only that the fighters will show bruises and cuts that bleed, but that players are encouraged to take advantage of the damage to win the game, much as in a real boxing match. Striking the opponent repeatedly in the eye will slow their reaction time, and make it difficult for them to see. Doing so is considered a strategic advantage.

Environment:

Fight Night 2004 and Fight Night Round 2 both strive to match the popular atmosphere of modern boxing. Background music tends to be rap containing mild language and suggestive themes. Characters traditionally interact in a hostile manner, and women are portrayed with limited clothing in stereotypical roles.

Overview:

If you have a hard time letting your child watch boxing on TV, you'll have a similar hard time letting your child play either Fight Night title. While both are excellent games, they are not intended for a younger audience.
