Space Harrier II (Genesis):
Space Harrier II is a difficult game to describe. The game, originally leased in the arcades in 1985, was one of the first games to support a "3D" feel. Your character runs along the ground, or flies in the air, in much the same way that a classic arcade racing title like Outrun would. Only there's no car. Space Harrier II's inclusion in the list of games Nintendo is making available is a bit baffling to me, since it's not what I consider to be all that good of a game. Sure, it's sort of nifty in the first level, and I'd have been very impressed when it first came out, I'm sure, but it has little longevity. Now days gamers have become too used to games that offer something progressively new as you get farther into the game; Space Harrier II wares thin remarkably quickly, in my opinion. Yeah, it's on the list of titles I could download for the Wii, but I would certainly take a number of other titles first.
