Outlaw Golf Profile for Parents:
Golf is probably the last place you'd expect to find a slew red flags for your children, but Outlaw Golf is a perfect example of a game you should be familiar with before giving your thumbs up to your children. Outlaw Golf is outlaw primarily because the main characters in the game violate all the typical personalities that you expect to see in golf. There are no preppy pressed shirts and manicured haircuts; the golf players you'll find populating Outlaw Golf are all colorful renditions pulled straight from a National Lampoons trailer park. The language and stereotype ridden game is specifically meant to violate people's sense of what is politically correct, while offering a basically solid golf game at the same time. Not only will you be playing as strippers and characters with strong sexual themes, but you'll be accompanied by caddies that you can beat in fist fights. While designed to be over-the-top and humorous more than serious and offensive, the content is such that many parents should be sure to check the gameplay out for themselves before turning it over to their kids.
Overview:
While certainly less serious and violent than games like Grand Theft Auto (which offers much more expansive gameplay to help justify it), Outlaw Golf still tries to raise eyebrows with their sense of humor. The foul language and sexual themes might not bother many teens, but really, there isn't a great deal more to the game than its naughty nature. Most kids might not blink an eye at the content if they're used to watching PG-13 movies, but if you're looking for a golf game there are many that focus more on pressing the envelope in gameplay, and are much better games.
