F-Zero GX Profile for Parents:
F-Zero GX is a futuristic racing game available for the Nintendo GameCube. The F-Zero franchise first appeared on the Super Nintendo, and has a strong fan-base amongst old-school gamers that remember playing the original in the early days of the industry. F-Zero GX is played entirely from an over-the-shoulder perspective behind your vehicle as you race. An in-game vehicle editor allows you to customize your vehicles as you race and make more money through your exploits. The fantasy violence that is referred to in the ESRB rating is mostly contained during non-interactive cut-scenes that take place between races. There are many characters from the noble hero type to the unscrupulous villain type - with different vehicles that the player is able to control, and many of the characters don't like each other. These characters often express hostile intentions towards each other during animations. Additionally, your vehicle takes damage while racing and can eventually explode if abused enough. Players are rewarded with extra lives if they are able to destroy a competition's vehicle during a race, but there is no blood and the driving is not realistically rendered. The tracks, in fact, are often much like floating highways, and the characters themselves resemble cartoon characters and super-heroes.
