While the Wii has been supplanted in the hearts and minds of game designers with the new Wii U, the console is still in a lot of homes, and is often used as a streaming media platform by subscribers of Netflix and Hulu Plus. So it's not surprising that Amazon wants a piece of the pie. They have just announced that Amazon Instant Video has come to the Wii.
