Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli has told Digital Spy that Crysis 3 will not be coming to the Wii U because not enough "business drive" has resulted from discussions between Nintendo and publisher Electronic Arts.
"It's a business decision between EA and Nintendo. If that business decision doesn't make sense, or seems to not make sense for them, it's... not possible for us to make it. We can't publish ourselves, and that's the bottom line."
While EA's CEO John Riccitiello declared strong support for the Wii U during Nintendo's 2011 E3 reveal, appearing on stage with Satoru Iwata to say that there had been a "breakthrough" in the EA/Nintendo relationship, the publisher's support for the Wii U since has been anemic, lending credence to the rumor that EA and Nintendo had a falling out after Nintendo rejected an EA bid to manage Nintendo's eShop. While there is no way to know if that rumor is true, it is clear that whatever breakthrough the companies had in 2011 has since broken.
