Wii U TVii and VOD Integration Delayed

By November 17, 2012

Follow me on:

Nintendo has announced that their TVii service and ability to use services like Hulu Plus and Netflix won't be part of the Wii U at launch. TVii, which aims to allow users to access all their Video on Demand services through a single interface and interact with others during programming, is now slated to arrive in December, while the VOD services will roll out for the console over the next few weeks.

This is the latest in a series of disappointing announcements from Nintendo, which has previously revealed unfortunate quirks in their storage system and game voice chat.

Since the Wii U pre-orders have sold out at many retailers this isn't likely to have any impact on launch sales, but Nintendo had better get their ducks in order soon if they want to prevent consumer doubts.
