What do Xenoblade, The Last Story and Pandora's Tower all have in common? The are big-budget, highly-anticipated role playing games for the Wii that Nintendo seems determined to not release in the U.S. And now they have something else in common, a group of feisty Americans determined to persuade Nintendo that the U.S. wants, needs and deserves these games. Billing themselves as Operation Rainfall, they have started snail mail, email and facebook campaigns to win over Nintendo, and have even found an ingenious way to pre-order Xenoblade from Amazon.com (under its originally-announced title) to prove the market is there. Meanwhile, someone on IGN's forums has started their own snail mail campaign (no idea if they're connected to Rainfall).
Since Nintendo is about at the end of developing titles for the Wii, it would be nice if they would show some love to the people who supported the console by giving them a few final quality games. Will Nintendo give in? Stay tuned.
