Wii Balance Board May Be Used in Attempt to Stop Hijackings

Thursday October 8, 2009

According to Popular Science, Homeland Security is spending $20 million on a program that includes using the Wii Balance Board to see if passengers fidget.  This, combined with technology looking for shifty eyes, increased heart rate and other signs of nervousness, will be used to determine whether passengers need a second screening.

In other words, Homeland Security is working on technology to find nervous people waiting for their flight.  So if you're afraid of flying, always schedule an extra hour for the interview and baggage search you can expect to endure every time you take a flight.

Also expect more terrorists to start buying Wii Fit to practice standing still.  Good news for Nintendo, bad news for those who expect our government to spend taxpayer money wisely.
